Matt Peterson is the Social Media & Marketing Associate with the Contemplative Sciences Center. He joined the team in September, 2024, and supports the CSC team through graphic design and social media management. Prior to working with the Contemplative Sciences Center, Matt has worked around Grounds as a Student Affairs Fellow in the office of Orientation & Transition Programs and a College Adviser with the Virginia College Advising Corps.
While studying American Studies at the University of Virginia, Matt deepened his love for photography and visual design, honing these skills in positions with CIOs and offices around Grounds. He is excited to work in a position that allows him to be creative each day while encouraging students, faculty, and staff at the University to find time to practice mindfulness, even while scrolling on their phones.
When he's not at the Contemplative Commons, Matt enjoys singing and doing photoshoots for friends, often at the same time.
