Kayti Wingfield Sewell
Title
Kayti serves as the Director of Advancement at the Contemplative Sciences Center, where she has been making an impact since early 2020. With nearly a decade of mission-driven fundraising expertise, she has honed her skills in principal, major, and annual giving, donor relations, gift planning, and event management. Kayti's commitment to her community extends beyond her professional role as she also serves on the board of directors for the independent nonprofit radio station WNRN.
Before joining the Contemplative Sciences Center, Kayti was the Director of Development for the University of Virginia's School of Engineering. During her four-year tenure, she played a pivotal role in fostering philanthropy to support professorships, graduate fellowships, scholarships, and the annual fund. She helped guide the development team through a period of remarkable growth during the “Honor the Future” Campaign.
Prior to her accomplishments at the University, Kayti served as the Director of Leadership Gifts at Appalachian Voices, a regional nonprofit dedicated to protecting the Central Appalachian Mountain region’s natural heritage and promoting a transition to clean energy and resilient local economies. Over her five years with Appalachian Voices, she established the organization’s first major donor program, doubling its budget and expanding its staffing and programs.
Kayti holds a BS in Political Science from Christopher Newport University and a Certificate in Nonprofit Management from the University of Virginia. She resides in Ivy with her husband, Brian, and their two young sons, Walker David and Martin.
